George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal for HBO developed the American fantasy drama House of the Dragon. This is the second television series based on the A Song of Ice and Fire series, and it serves as a prelude to Game of Thrones (2011-2019). In the first season, the show was run by Condal and Miguel Sapochnik.

The events of the show, based on Martin’s 2018 novel Fire & Blood, take place 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen and 100 years after the Seven Kingdoms are united as a result of the Targaryen Conquest.
