Is the News of Keshia Knight Pregnant True?
Having completed all the necessary preparations, Keshia Knight Pulliam is eager to start a family again. The actress from The Cosby Show announced in December 2022 that she and her husband, Brad James, whom she wed in October 2021, are expecting their first child. The couple announced their pregnancy with a son a few months later.
Pulliam and her ex-husband, Ed Hartwell, are also the parents of their 5-year-old daughter, Ella. After only six months of marriage and Pulliam’s pregnancy announcement a week later, he filed for divorce in July 2016. The ex-NFL player also asked for a paternity test.
Throughout an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Pulliam addressed the breakup, stating-
“It’s one thing when you choose to be in the spotlight. It’s another thing when you have a baby. And it’s not about me.” .” She also emphasized that her daughter was her top priority, saying, “she doesn’t deserve it,” before adding, “Despite all of this I am grateful for my blessing, and that’s my little girl.”
The Beauty Shop actress gave birth to Ella Grace in January 2017. Since then, mom and daughter have enjoyed many tender moments. Like everyone else, Ella can’t wait to be a big sister.
Pulliam told Entertainment Tonight-
“She is going to be an awesome big sister, she is excited. “She has known from like the beginning, so she actually did a really good job because she kept the secret! I was like, ‘Listen, Ella, you cannot tell anybody,’ so now she’ll be like, ‘Do they know about the baby, can I tell them?’ So, now she has free rein to tell everybody.”

In 2019, Pulliam began dating James after the two met on Pride and Prejudice: Atlanta. A year later, the actor from For Better or Worse popped the question. Pulliam’s representative told PEOPLE that the actress was engaged and the couple was “excited to find their happily ever after.” They held a little ceremony in their Atlanta home in September 2022 and exchanged vows.
In an interview with PEOPLE published a few months after their nuptials, Pulliam discussed her decision to freeze her eggs. She remarked,
“I began the process of freezing my eggs,” before explaining that various procedures were canceled because of COVID-19. “So, I was unable to continue,” she added.
While she and James were disappointed that they had to put their plans on hold, they remained “open to getting pregnant” the “old-fashioned way.”
Pulliam and James appeared on The Tamron Hall Show in December 2022 to break the news. Pulliam, who looked visibly pregnant, told the host that she was relieved to be able to talk openly about her pregnancy for the first time. She explained,
“Not that I’ve been trying to hide it, but when you’ve had a miscarriage, when you’ve gone through this journey, you want to just enjoy this moment and want to make sure that everything is OK.”
She talked about Ella’s reaction to the news, saying she is “so excited to be a big sister.” She also shared that her daughter “talks to the baby regularly.”
Pulliam announced the appearance on Instagram with a video of herself and James on the set of the talk show, captioned, “Just back from the set of the talk show, “Oh Baby Baby!! Baby James is coming in 2023!! 🥰❤️🥰.”

The couple made an Instagram announcement in March 2023, revealing their child’s gender. With the message, “It’s a BOY!!,” Pulliam and James shared a shot of themselves firing blue confetti cannons.

Pulitzer Prize winner Pulliam gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Ella Grace Hartwell, on January 23, 2017. She posted a picture of her newborn daughter with the caption, “Ella Grace has arrived!!!!” on Instagram.
Pulliam and Hartwell were going through a contentious divorce when she was born, and Hartwell asked for a paternity test.
As of August 2016, Pulliam said the breakup profoundly affected her daughter’s middle name.
“When I tell you through all of this, the grace of God has so been with us and has covered us and protected us — she’s been my saving grace to get through it,” Pulliam stated on an edition of her podcast, Kandidly Keshia.”It’s knowing that it’s not about me,” she said, adding, “it’s about her. It is about her being okay.”
Ella, aged 5, primarily resides in Atlanta with her stepmother Pulliam and stepfather, James. Ella seems to thrive in her family’s rural setting. Ella began riding lessons in the summer of 2022.” My big girl has officially started riding lessons & I am so proud!! Like me, she loves horses,” Pulliam wrote in a post on Instagram, adding, “I’m happy that I now have a little riding partner❤️.”
Pulliam and her daughter share many interests, not just a passion for horseback riding. She also posted a picture of her daughter Ella sitting in meditation and wrote on Instagram,
“Meditation has been an essential part of my daily self care for years. Walking by and seeing Ella meditating with rainbow unicorn just made my day 🥰.”
According to Pulliam, her daughter may follow in her famous mother’s footsteps.
“She’s aware that Mommy is an actress,” the actress shared during an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2020. “And the other day she was like, ‘Well Mommy, can I be an actor when I grow up?’ ” She added that “whatever it is that [Ella] ultimately chooses to do, I absolutely support.”
Ella has a tight relationship with her stepfather, and Pulliam frequently shares adorable images of the two of them. This image of James getting a manicure from Ella was posted to social media in February 2022 with the remark, “Love is getting your nails painted blue & wearing them out in public proudly!! #GirlDad.”
