Kenny Chesney Speaks Out After Woman Falls to Her Death During Concert

Kenny Chesney was “devastated to learn” on Sunday that a woman had died after Saturday night’s show in Denver.

An adult female visitor to Empower Field at Mile High reportedly died from her injuries after sitting on an escalator railing and falling to the concourse below. An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the death. The woman’s age and identity remain unknown.

Police told The Denver Post that they do not know if alcohol played a role in the woman’s fall, but they do believe that she “was not pushed or jostled before she fell.”

There had been so much joy and heart coming from the people of Denver last night — and to hear this is heartbreaking,” he said in a statement. “Life is precious. For her friends and family’s loss, I grieve with them and for them.”

Empower Field released a statement saying, “there is nothing more important to us than the safety of our guests” and that they were in touch with Denver PD to help with their investigation. In a statement, the venue said it was sending its “deepest sympathies to the loved ones of the woman involved in the tragic incident” after Saturday night’s concert at Empower Field at Mile High.
