Taylor Hawkins Cause of Death: Drugs Found in Body of Late Foo Fighters Drummer
According to Colombian authorities, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins was under the influence of opioids, marijuana, and other narcotics before his untimely death. A toxicology report revealed that he had compounds of 10 different substances in his system, including antidepressants.

Authorities have not commented on whether or not the combination of drugs played a role in the death. Hawkins, 50, passed away in a hotel in Bogota, Colombia, the night before the band was set to perform at a music festival.
According to authorities, a male at the hotel called 911 complaining of chest issues, prompting the dispatch of an ambulance. According to the city’s health authorities, he was pronounced dead despite all attempts at resuscitation.
The Colombian attorney general‘s office has stated that further information would be available once the investigation has progressed.
To determine the cause of death, “the National Institute of Forensic Medicine continues to conduct the appropriate medical studies,” the statement continued. The hotel in the Colombian capital has been decorated with flowers left by fans who traveled there to see the band perform.
The band released a statement confirming Hawkins’ death, expressing their “devastation” and asking for privacy for his family.
He started playing drums for the band in 1997 and contributed to writing numerous songs, and occasionally performed as a singer. The remaining concerts in South America for Foo Fighters’ tour have been canceled.
Thousands of mourning fans gathered outside the concert hall where Hawkins was supposed to play to observe a moment of silence and light candles in response to the shocking news of his death.

Artists from all throughout the music industry and beyond have offered their respects. Ozzy Osbourne said Hawkins was “an amazing musician,” while Mick Jagger called the news “incredibly sad.”
