Ted Lasso Season 3 Release Date
Season 3 has been confirmed, according to many reports. Initially, the show was scheduled to return to Apple TV+ in the summer of 2022. The season’s writing began in September, and production is scheduled to begin in January 2022. Nevertheless, production began one month later than originally planned.
On March 7, production began. Since the production has been delayed, it is now uncertain if the season will air during the summer of 2022 or not. Finally, it has been revealed that the season will run for a total of 12 episodes.
Ted Lasso Season 3 Plot
Brendan Hunt, Ted Lasso’s co-creator, writer, and star, has revealed a few hints about the upcoming third season. A time jump from the events of season 2 may be necessary, according to Coach Beard’s Brendan, who spoke to TVLine. He said, “Well, we don’t like to repeat ourselves. It was in January when we began our [Premier League] season during Season 1. When we started Season 2, it was late September. This is something we’ve never done before, so it might be something we want to try. We have to play West Ham twice because of the way the English Premier League schedule works: at home and away.”
The season 2 finale saw assistant coach Nathan Shelley (Nick Mohammed) leave AFC Richmond to work for rival team West Ham, which is owned by Rebecca Welton’s (Hannah Waddingham’s ex-husband) Rupert Mannion’s (Anthony Head). AFC Richmond vs. West Ham will be a major storyline in season 3 of the American Football League. Also, we can anticipate witnessing more of Keely Jones and Roy Kent’s romance (Brett Goldstein). Producer Kip Kroeger told Deadline that certain characters’ backstories will be “deeper” in season 3.
There is a lot of excitement about the upcoming third season, although it will not air during the warm months like it did in the previous two. A “football wrinkle” delayed the start of filming Season 3 until March 2022. That’s why they couldn’t get the soccer scenes done in time, Brendan told TVLine! As Brendan put it, “We’re definitely starting later this year than we did in Season 2.” “As a result, I’d be surprised if our delivery dates coincided.”
Cast and Crew
The Ted Lasso cast will reunite for Season 3 of the show. Hannah Waddingham, Nick Mohammad (as Leslie Higgins), Jeremy Swift (as Jason Sudeikis), and the rest of the cast are all returning. Season 3 is anticipated to star Phil Dunster as Jamie Tartt, Toheeb Jimoh as Sam Obisanya, and Cristo Fernandez as Dani Rojas. Sarah Niles will reprise her role as team psychologist Dr. Sharon Fieldstone, and James Lance will reprise his role as sports reporter Trent Crimm, according to executive producer Bill Lawrence. In an interview with Deadline, Bill said, “I can tell you both of them have significant roles next year.” More electric characters may be added in the third season as well.

Is Ted Lasso Ending After Season 3?
Despite the enormous popularity of Ted Lasso, Jason confessed to Entertainment Weekly in June 2021 that he only has a three-season story arc in mind for the show. “The story that I know is the one that I wanted to tell, and so that’s the one we’re telling with the help of numerous people in front of and behind the camera, so it’s by no means me typing every keystroke and saying every word. It’s nowhere near like that. But the story that’s being told – that three-season arc – is one that I see, know, and understood,” the actor explained. “I’m glad that they are willing to pay for those three seasons. As far as what happens after that, who knows? I don’t know.”
Ted Lasso Success
Ted Lasso has garnered a slew of accolades since its premiere and is a perennial favorite at award shows. Season 1 received the most nominations for a freshman comedy show in the history of the Primetime Emmy Awards, with a total of 20 nominations. After winning the Outstanding Comedy Series at the 2021 Emmy Awards for Jason, Brett, and Brett’s supporting roles in a comedy series, the show was named Best Comedy Series during the ceremony. Season 2 is expected to win big at the Emmys in 2022. A Golden Globe and a SAG Award were also given to Jason for his performance as Ted. The 2022 Screen Actor Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series went to the Ted Lasso cast as a whole.
