Release Date:  When will The Crown Season 5 premiere?

As of now, the makers have not revealed the release date of the next installment. However, it is confirmed that the production of season 5 of The Crown began last month which is going to serve the personal nuances and political journey of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. The show debuted in 2016 which served a total of four seasons, the fourth one ended in 2020.

In January 2020, Netflix announced that The Crown’s fifth season will conclude the story but later it was announced that Netflix confirmed that the series will be continued to the sixth season. Peter Morgan shared that the team will move forward with the original plan of six seasons. The decision of five seasons was revised to six, to provide more richness to the complex story.

The release date of season 5 is not clear, we will not get the season until 2022. Production got underway but it will take a lot more time in the development phases. Staunton replaced Emmy-nominated Olivia Colman, Major as Jonny Lee Miller, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, and Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Dominic West as Prince Charles.
