The Silent Sea Trailer Previews Terrifying Moon Mission in Netflix K-drama
The very first trailer for Netflix’s forthcoming sci-fi mystery thriller, The Silent Sea, has been released. The Silent Sea, Netflix’s latest Korean thriller, sets a squad of astronauts against a terrifying unidentified danger at an ancient lunar research station. Gong Yoo, Bae Doona, and Lee Joon star in the upcoming South Korean sci-fi mystery thriller streaming television series.
The sequence is an adaptation of Choi Hang-2014 Yong’s short film The Sea of Tranquility, which he also wrote and directed. It is set to be released on Netflix on Christmas Eve, because of the storyline, it has been anticipated for so long. The series, set in 2075, features several astronauts sent to the moon to find a strange sample at an abandoned Korean research base.
The test may hold the key to countering diminishing resources on Earth, but the stuff at the base takes a dangerous turn first before astronauts can complete their mission. The Silent Sea, based on a critically acclaimed brief by the show’s director Choi Hang-Yong, stars the cast, including Squid Game alumni Gong Yoo as Han Yoon-Jae and Kingdom’s Bae Doona as astrobiologist Doctor Song Ji-an.
When Will the Silent Sea Be Released?
The Silent Sea will be available on Netflix on December 24, 2021. The release date was shared on The Netflix Twitter handle. Netflix announced in December 2019 that it would create the tv show The Silent Sea, based on Choi Hang-2014 Yong’s titular short movie.

The audience got enthralled by the trailer. The very first preview for Netflix’s The Silent Sea teases terror both at residence and in space. The trailer begins with a disquieting shot of an arid city on Earth, followed by a newsreader confirming that the world’s tap water will be reduced by 40% within the next ten years.
Despite showing more of a heartbroken Earth, the trailer shifts its focus to the astronauts’ mission to the Moon in search of a remedy to problems of the society. Items spiral out of control, with the astronauts determining that something is wrong with the facility.
When they discover hallways piled high with bodies and a watch hints that someone, or some such, is on deck the depot with them, their misgivings are confirmed.
