Why is Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season 3 Cancelled?
Nickelodeon has yet to provide an official explanation for why the show is canceled at the time of this writing.
Fans of the show on social media, however, believe that this is a decision made by a new group of executives at the network in reaction to a decrease in toy sales.
“When the show was greenlit, there were different people running the studio and whenever there’s a change of guards, the next batch of elites want to make their mark and that often means killing other stuff.” As per Twitter, the TMNT writer has risen to prominence.

The way the whole thing was handled has been very distressing for fans, which is why speculation over the future of the show has lasted for weeks.
“So Rise of the TMNT was: Pushed to Nicktoons. Was supposed to have 13 more episodes but it was cut because toy sales were low. Then ended with zero advertisements from Nickelodeon. Whatever you think of the show itself, all of that is gross. Nik can’t keep doing this,” said a fan on Twitter.
Will the Series be Renewed At Any Point?
Although it doesn’t appear that Nickelodeon will renew Rise of the TMNT, that doesn’t mean the show will never return.
Thousands of fans have taken to social media to express their frustration and hope that the show may be picked up by a different network, such as Netflix, in the near future.
As a result of the outrage that this cancellation is generating among the show’s devoted audience, Nickelodeon officials may choose to reconsider whether or not to renew it.
