The Machine is a 2023 American action comedy film directed by Peter Atencio and based on Bert Kreischer’s 2016 stand-up performance. Alongside Mark Hamill, Jimmy Tatro, Iva Babi, Stephanie Kurtzuba, and Jessica Gabor, Kreischer plays a fictionalized version of himself in the film.
Bert Kreischer became well-known as a stand-up comic thanks to his wild stories from college. During his time in Russia, he became intoxicated and confronted some Russian mobsters, the subject of one of his stories.
Twenty years later, the same mobsters and his estranged father abduct him to torment him again. Bert must now go back to his childhood to figure out how to stop the gangsters from k!lling him.
On May 26, 2023, the first screenings of The Machine opened across the United States. The film’s comedic and action sequences were lauded, while the plot and pacing were panned. Those who are interested can currently watch The Machine in theaters.
