Welcome back Fam! Today we are here discussing an amazing show which has returned to Netflix after two decades. Yes, we are talking about Tales Of The City of Armistead Maupin who is back 7th of June on Netflix. This show has been completely wrapped up and no further details have been updated yet.
So if you are a fan of the show and you’re wondering if the second season of the show going to be released or not then unfortunately the second season of Tales of the city is not going to be produced.
The prequel of this series was released on various channels 4, showtime, and PBS. This series was last released in the 1990s and 2000s so when it was announced in June 2017 it was a bit of a surprise for all the fans of the show. The production of the show eventually began and finally was released on 7th June 2019.
The production took a total of two years to be finally released on Netflix. Even though this series is based on the same name as the novel. This series eventually gained a huge modern audience even tho it was written in late 1970.

Other than having some amazing views about the show the renewal of the show was unfortunately canceled. This news was the biggest shock for most of the fans and they are still expecting this show to have some extensions.
This famous series was made a limited series for its obvious reason Netflix has already mentioned that this was going to be a mini-series and it was going to be limited for a certain period.
Even though there have been a lot of other reasons for the second season to be canceled the most important one was the nature of the entire star cast. Even if the second season was scheduled the entire star cast had their busy schedule. Most of them even have some other tie-ups with Netflix itself. Ellen Page would be seen returning for the Umbrella Academy while the third season of Ozark is going to have Laurel Linney with it.
As it was mentioned earlier this show is completely based on the novels and has very limited materials Even if the novel was a prequel series and we all were expecting it to be back With at least one more season, unfortunately, it didn’t work out as such.
Will the Original ‘further Tales of the City Is Going to Be Back on Netflix?
The original show of Further tales of the shit City will not be released on Netflix. We all know that the fans were expecting the original show to be released. However, this has been the scenario for most of the reboots that have been released on Netflix. The best example of such a reboot is Fuller house where it was originally unable to get the original series released.
However, it managed to get the reboot of the season. Unfortunately, the streaming rights are usually very tricky and it completely depends on how many production companies are involved in releasing the original series. As of now, we all have to watch the VoD services to watch the original series as it won’t be released on this streaming platform.
