WWE Releases 8 Superstars Including John Morrison and Drake Maverick

Hit Row, John Morrison, and Drake Maverick are among the eight new WWE superstars

In yet another round of financial cuts, WWE announced the release of nine more superstars on Friday morning. John Morrison, Tegan Nox, Drake Maverick, Hit Row Top Dolla, Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, and Ashante “Thee” Adonis, Shane Thorne, and Jaxson Ryker have all been removed from their roles, according to Wrestling Inc.

John Morrison is regarded as one of the most successful WWE mid-card Superstars. While he was best known for his comic appearances on WWE, he was also a formidable performer in the ring. He had a tremendous time as part of The Miz’s Tag Team, and fans were eagerly anticipating Miz’s return to WWE TV to see the much-anticipated war between him and Morrison.

However, with WWE publishing yet another list of Superstars who have been removed from the business, this no longer appears to be a possibility. The WWE’s streak of releasing Superstars seems not to be coming to an end. Today, the firm let go of eight additional Superstars.

Bosslogic Solves No Way Home Trailer’s ‘missing’ Spider-man Problem

Following the dismissal of 18 wrestlers earlier this month, including Keith Lee, Karrion Kross, Scarlett Boudreaux, and Nia Jax, WWE has announced its second round of budget cuts.

John Morrison is one name that has stunned pro-wrestling fans on social media. Morrison’s most recent bout was on WWE Main Event on November 15 against Veer Mahaan, which he lost. Morrison made his SmackDown debut under the ring moniker Johnny Nitro in April 2005.

Morrison excelled in just about any environment imaginable, doing athletic feats previously unseen in WWE. He was trained in the French discipline of parkour, which stresses freedom of movement.

WWE’s Head of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis, sent an email to all of the talents informing them of the releases. The announcements come as a shock considering that Superstars like Hit Row, Drake Maverick, and John Morrison all appeared on WWE TV on a regular basis.

All of the Superstars who have been released are expected to be subject to a 90-day non-completion clause. While WWE may not have utilized them to their full potential, rival promoters such as All Elite Wrestling and IMPACT Wrestling may sign these wrestlers in the near future.

The Unexpected Exit of John Morrison and Drake Maverick

Morrison was a three-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, six-time Tag Team Champion, and one-time ECW Heavyweight Champion after making his WWE debut in 2005. He was well-known for his association with The Miz, with whom he had a rivalry previously this year with Bad Bunny.

His last appearance in the ring was on November 15, 2021, in the WWE main event, when he was defeated by Jinder Mahal. Fans of pro wrestling were taken aback by his release, as no one expected the next wave of cutbacks after the business released a slew of wrestlers last month.

Drake Maverick, an eight-time WWE 24/7 title winner, was another surprising WWE release. In the WWE Monday Night RAW episode of November 8, 2021, he defeated Reggie to win his seventh championship title.

Maverick won the championship despite losing three times to Reggie earlier in the month. However, he was released by McMahon just days after winning the title, which surprised WWE fans. For more updates, keep following.
