Season 3 can experience changes regarding casting though it is hard to forecast what we are sure about if Michael Dorman and Sarah Jones won’t return, since Gordo and Tracy Stevens had to sacrifice their lives to save the Moon from nuclear destruction. Krys Marshall and Shantel VanSanten are also confirmed to be back.

The other members from the previous season who could return are Joel Kinnaman for the character of  Ed Baldwin, Shantel VanSanten for the character of Karen Baldwin, Jodi Balfour for the character ofEllen Wilson and Wrenn Schmidt for the character of Margo Madison. There is also the probability of returning Sonya Walger in the role of Molly Cobb but after her moonwalk in the previous season, she was seen experiencing glaucoma which can also cause cancer.

Mankind Season 3 Plot: What will happen?

So before proceeding with the happenings of season 3, let us take a quick recap of Season 1 and Season 2.

In the final episode of Season 1, everyone wanted to rule the Moon. On Earth, Tracy Stevens was about to get married again to another person and hide the fact from her ex-husband. Ed keeps an eye on the Soviet base and gets to know the latter have been keeping watch on Ed’s activities. Whereas, on the other hand, Karen was shattered at the death of her son whose name is  Shane and she intentionally hides this information from Ed. On the other hand, Apollo 24 had premature combustion which caused a huge loss. Despite all these mishappenings, Apollo 24 mission was successful but in the end, Deke Slayton died.

The end of Season 2 left things clear about  Ed and Karen’s wedding, they came for a Funeral and left the place in separate cars which clearly indicates that their marriage was in danger.

Let’s continue with season 3, as we know season 1 covered 1969 to 1973, season 2 jumped into 1983, and season 3 is supposed to jump into 1994, the decade when Hubble Space Telescope and International Space Station were launched.

Ron Moore said concerning Season 3 that the plan is to go way beyond the nineties anyway: “There was generally a seven-year arc of structure that we pitched originally. Each season would go roughly years into the future.” (Credit: Inverse)
