After months of build-up, Windows 11 was announced by Microsoft on June 24.
In the live event, Microsoft revealed:
✅A complete design & interface overall.
✅Virtual Desktop Support.
✅Smooth laptop to monitor Switch.
✅Microsoft Teams in Taskbar.
✅Widgets.
✅And my personal favorite – Android Apps Integration.
With all these enhancements, I was eagerly waiting for the Windows Insider Beta build released by the end of June 2021.
However, before this could happen Microsoft dropped a bombshell – Minimum Requirements needed to run Windows 11.
Now with the official requirement listing out in the open, the biggest now is – Can You Run Windows 11 on your PC?
Well, let’s find out:
Windows 11 Minimum System Requirements
Officially speaking, the following minimum system requirements must be met to Run Windows 11 on your PC:
RAM: 4GB.
STORAGE: At least 64 GB.
PROCESSOR: 1 GHz or faster with 2 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor.
TPM: Trusted Platform Module version 2.0
DISPLAY: 720p display greater than 9” diagonally and 8 bits per color channel.
GRAPHICS CARD: DirectX 12 Compatibility or WDDM 2.0 driver.
SYSTEM FIRMWARE: Secure Boot, UEFI Capable.
With these minimum system requirements mandatory to run Windows 11, Microsoft has made 4 years or older hardware obsolete. This means PC that has TPM 2.0, 8th Gen, or later processors can run Windows 11.
Can You Run Windows 11 on your PC?
You see, according to Microsoft, Windows 11 can run on Eligible Devices. And you can check the compatibility of your PC by installing the PC Health Check app on it.
Once installed, run it to see which one message you’re getting on your PC:
I know that’s disappointed but don’t be. Once the official Window 11 is out, I’m optimistic to see some workaround that makes it possible for you to run Windows 11 on unsupported devices.
