The Russo Brothers, who directed Infinity War and Endgame, the two highest-grossing movies of all time, have unveiled their next television series, Citadel. After the enormous success of Netflix’s The Gray Man, they decided to move their next massive production to Amazon Prime Video.
The new “groundbreaking” series chronicles the adventures of two spies who narrowly escaped de@th and memory loss. They have no choice but to get back in action and save the world.

Will There Be a Second Season of Citadel?
A second season of Citadel is confirmed. Amazon and MGM Studios CEO Jennifer Salke issued the following statement:
“Citadel’ is a truly global phenomenon. Our goal was always to create a new franchise rooted in original IP that would grow Prime Video’s international audience. This show has drawn an outsize number of new international customers to Prime Video.
Its massive worldwide debut audience is a testament to Joe and Anthony Russo’s remarkable vision, the incredible talents of Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Lesley Manville and Stanley Tucci, and the tireless work of the creative teams, cast, and crew.”
When Will Citadel Season 2 Be Released?
As of May 2023, a premiere date for Season 2 of Citadel has not been set. Just before the completion of the first season, it was announced that there would be a second. While Season 2 of the Italian spinoff Citadel: Diana is expected to premiere in 2024, its exact streaming release date is unknown.
What Will the Second Season of Citadel Be About?
The first season of Citadel was full of unexpected turns. What we may expect, though, in Season 2 are the following basics: For starters, Mason remembered what happened to the Citadel and realized he was to fault for its destruction. Celeste, an ex-spy he protected, and Abby are his wives. He also has a child with his wife, Nadia, who remains married.
After failing to steal the nuclear codes from Mason, Dahlia faked her de@th. Therefore, the future season will likely focus on finding her. So, how about Bernard? When we last saw him, Dahlia was tormenting him, so we have no idea what he’ll look like today.
In an interview, the Russo brothers said:
They added, “And then, part of what you want to do when you’re working on a show like this – it’s a continuing narrative, you’re building out a universe – you want to see what it is that the audience is responding to and what it is exciting them about the narrative.”
“We have our ideas, we can speculate, but it’s always refreshing to get that feedback. We certainly made adjustments to Avengers: Endgame after Avengers: Infinity War came out because you want to be organic and fluid and iterative so that you just keep telling the best and most interesting story.”
