What Will Be the Plot of Death Note Season 2?

Death Note Season 2
Death Note Season 2

The anime’s protagonist, Light, is shot by Matsuda (Ryô Naitô/Vincent Tong) after attempting to write names on strips of paper from the Death Note he had hidden in his watch. As Light writhes in agony on the floor, Ryuk scribbles Light’s name in the Death Note. While having images of his rival, the dead investigator L., Light dies of heart arrest.

With both of the first season’s protagonists dead, the show would either have to Death Note: adapt one of several existing prequels or sequel mangas or be an entirely new story. Aside from  The a-Kira Story” — which is set 10 years after the events of the original “Death Note” — and “The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases,” there is the one-shot “Chapter 109” (also known as “The C-Kira Story”) and the “L File No. 15” book.

The most narratively rich vein to mine would be that of “The a-Kira Story.” In the manga, Death Note falls into the hands of a student named Minoru Tanaka, who decides to sell the book to the highest bidder. Ryuk tries to prevent the sale of the Death Note, and the world begins to fall into chaos as American and Chinese authorities battle over the notebook.

Death Note Season 2 Cast

The main protagonist in the story is Light Yagami, other important characters are Shinigami Ryuk, Detective L Lawliet, Misa Amane, Nate River, and Teru Mikami.

Light Yagami (夜神月, Yagami Raito) is the main protagonist of the Death Note series. After discovering the Death Note and knowing its true powers of killing people after writing a person’s name and face in the mind, he decides to use it to rid the world of criminals to reduce the crime rate and have a new world where innocent and good people live their lives where he has chosen to live and tried to become the god of the new world.

L Lawliet, known solely as L, is the world’s greatest detective and one of the main antagonists in Death Note. He takes on the task of tracking down and arresting Kira. He only ever wears shoes in public, just to take them off as soon as he sits down.

Ryuk is a bored Shinigami that drops a Death Note, a notebook that allows the one in its possession to kill anyone simply by knowing their name and face, into the human world in order to have fun.

Misa Amane is a popular Japanese idol, who is known for her Gothic style of dress, hyperactive personality, and devotion to Light, falling in love with him after he kills her parents’ murderer. As a Death Note owner and the second Kira, she has the Shinigami Eyes, which allow her to see nearly every one’s name and lifespan.

Season 1 of the series ended more than a decade ago, and Madhouse has been tight-lipped on the second installment. Since then, several spin-offs such as two movies and two video games have been produced, but nothing compares to the original anime series.

Now you’re probably wondering why the makers didn’t go for a second serving if the series was so well received.

The manga on which the series is based is divided into 12 volumes, and the anime has adopted all of them. Now we have some wonderful news for you. In 2020, the manga began serialization with a brand new Death Note tale.
