Will Demon Lord, Retry! Season 2 makes us want a Season 3?
The fans have shown plenty of positivity, love, and appreciation towards this Anime that was enough to warrant the anime being renewed for a second season. However, there are a few unanswered questions over the future of Demon Lord, Retry! after season 2. This has largely been attributed to some of the critical comments that the show has received.
Many reviewers claimed that it was enjoyable enough to watch but lambasted the show as a generic Isekai anime adventure that is heavily derived from the Overlord Anime series. Some even went as far as to say that it was a cheap knockoff.
The other issue that has been raised by critics is the fact that the quality of animation is average and not the greatest. The show’s saving grace has been that action and battle sequences are not the focal point of the show.
While these reviews may have a point, the show has its own positives. It has a unique depiction of certain aspects, such as a chain-smoking middle-aged Demon lord. The selling point of the show is the strength of the character development of the protagonist and other central characters. It also is commendable for avoiding generic and typical plotlines around female characters that make the narration of the tale interesting and suspenseful at times.
So, will Demon Lord, Retry! Does season 2 entail a season 3? As long as it can keep its fans happy and thirsty for more, the possibility of a season 3 should always be in the cards. Only time will tell.
