GTA 6: Release Date Status Latest, Location, Characters, and More
Rumors about Grand Theft Auto 6 spread like wildfire from Rockstar Games. It’s a challenge to separate the rumor mill from the facts. When it comes to making video games today, things are constantly changing. As a result, we’re here to cover everything that’s transpired since our last update.
For nearly a decade, GTA fans have been clamoring for a follow-up to GTA 5. Without the meager mentions from official sources, we’d have no reason to assume if it even exists. The good news is, that Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 is currently under development.
In an official statement, Rockstar Games said, “We are thrilled to confirm that active production for the next chapter in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.”

Here’s all we know about GTA 6 so far to help us understand what it entails.
GTA 6 Release Date
There’s no release date for GTA 6, which is a bummer because it was widely expected to be released in 2022 since back in 2018 when it was first announced. People in the gaming community and the media are still delving into the question of when GTA 6 will be released.
So, when can we expect the game to be released?
According to a Take-Two marketing report from 2020, the game would be released in 2023. According to industry expert Jason Cohen, who correctly anticipated the release window for Red Dead Redemption 2, the advertising budget, and other criteria in the research indicated that GTA 6 will be released between 2023 and 2024.
Other industry insiders, on the other hand, tend to believe otherwise. GTA 6 won’t be released for another two to four years, according to these sources, but it’s more likely that it won’t be until 2025.
GTA 6 is expected to be released sometime between 2023 and 2025, according to these two speculations, which at least agree on a possible release date of 2024.
GTA 6 Trailer
There is currently no official trailer for GTA 6. Fan-made trailers, on the other hand, are quite impressive. Marlon XGamer’s April Fool’s Day spoof went viral, receiving over 4 million views. The prank was uncovered soon after the video was uploaded, but not before it had the opportunity to fool millions of people.
YouTube channels like “Rockstar Games Official” and “Rockstar North” were able to fool the internet by releasing similar videos and teasers. These trailers flood search engines with false information, making it appear as if there is a trailer when there isn’t.
Don’t be deceived. For reference, the confirmed Rockstar Games YouTube channel should be the one that is authentic.

GTA 6 Location
The location of GTA 6 is also a hot issue of debate.
Vice City, a fictional Miami-based city that appeared in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, maybe making a comeback, according to The Know, a well-known source of inside information.
Fans of Grand Theft Auto have found evidence to corroborate this claim. GTA 5 map “Height of Society” was compared to a map of the United States, which included Florida, Michigan, and Mexico. Imgur user Tenet007 did the same.
A few years ago, many people speculated that Grand Theft Auto 6 might be set in Portland, Oregon. A Portland real estate company’s blog post on the subject of a GTA game based in Portland sparked this myth.
As a result of this analysis, Rockstar decided from using Tokyo as a backdrop for a separate game.
GTA 6 Protagonist
Since GTA 5 introduced numerous protagonists for the first time, there have been many ideas about how Rockstar will handle playable characters in GTA 6. In any event, the franchise’s future looks bright.
This would be the first time in the series’ history that a female protagonist would be selectable, according to The Know. It has been reported that a male or female protagonist will be an option in the game. For the record, there hasn’t been any confirmation from Rockstar about female protagonists or character options.
Another question is whether GTA 6 will stick with the multi-character narratives or go back to a single protagonist. In GTA Online, you might play as a single character, which could have an impact on Rockstar’s decision-making process.
GTA 6 Characters
The three main characters from GTA 5 — Franklin, Trevor, and Michael – have been speculated to return in GTA 6. That’s a little doubtful, given that they were allegedly meant to be included in DLC for the single-player game but were never released. GTA 5’s final chapter appears to have concluded their storylines.
One exception to this is Franklin, who appeared in The Contract missions for Grand Theft Auto Online (GTA Online).
However, it’s possible that some characters from previous games will make a reappearance.
Among those that worked with Ken Rosenburg were Tommy and CJ from Vice City and San Andreas.
Easter Eggs exist in the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Even if older folks aren’t the focus of the story, it’s likely that you’ll run into them while exploring the city.
GTA 6 Pre-orders
Pre-orders for GTA 6 aren’t available yet, which isn’t surprising. Pre-order information will be made available here as soon as it becomes available.
