It is confirmed that Hocus Pocus 2 is back after a wait of decades. In December 2020, Disney confirmed the exciting news in an investors meeting. Hocus Pocus 2 is a follow-up of Walt Disney’s Hocus Pocus 1993 featuring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as three wrecked witches who were on the surge of becoming immortal. Here is the great news that all three are returning for the upcoming story. The sequel is by Anne Fletcher and written by Jen D’Angelo, which is currently in development.
Hocus Pocus is an American fantasy comedy film that was released in 1993. This comedy-drama was directed by Kenny Ortega and illustrated by Neil Cuthbert and Mick Garris. The movie portrayed three comedic villainous witches who were resurrected by a teenage boy named Omri Katz in Salem on Halloween night. The movie managed to receive mixed reviews. Despite such response and theatrical loss(losing Disney around $16.5 million at the time of release), it was not successful at the box office, Hocus Pocus was re- discovered by the fans during many annual airings on Disney Channel. It resulted in the spike of each Halloween Season, which induced the network to bring a sequel for the enthusiasts of the movie. And now the Halloween story is coming next year. Release Date: When is Hocus Pocus 2 set to release?
We will get the sequel in 2022… Yes, you heard it right, the sequel will be worth the wait, as it is in the development stage, so you adjust your calendar. But for a concrete date, we have to wait, as the release date is not yet announced. Thanks to the trio for confirming the news of a storied comeback in 2022. The movie is scheduled to premiere in 2022 on Disney+ Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker shared this news that the witches are coming back, Fall of 2022.
The spooky story is the sequel to the Halloween cult classic Hocus Pocus to Disney’s 1993. Plans for the sequel were first hinted at in 2019, however, the movie will exclusively premiere on Disney plus. The sequel was first announced in the autumn of 2019 at that time no one was sure what would be the scenario, and there was buzz that the movie would be a reboot rather than a sequel.
With this news of premiering in 2022, fans got super excited for the story of witchy band, however the date of release is not disclosed. So we have to wait for the official announcement on the same. If we get anything regarding the release date, we will surely update the space.
Who will be part of the upcoming sequel?
Well, we have good news, fans of the trio are going to get the witchy band back together again. There were reports that the new scriptwriter and co-producer of the show, Jen D’Angelo was asked to somehow bring the three original stars back to their modern roles.

What will the story of Hocus Pocus serve us?
The fantasy story will revolve around three women who accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters to modern-day Salem. We will get to see the efforts on how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc. Anne Fletcher is expected to take over from her friend Adam Shankman.

According to a report of The Illuminerdi, Hocus Pocus 2 will serve an aspiring witch named Becca. Becca summons the Sanderson Sisters on Halloween night accidentally after finding a dark flame candle at a local shop- which interestingly found to be Sanderson Sisters’ former home. The Hollywood Reporter stated that three young women will accidentally bring them back to modern-day Salem.

It is pretty obvious that we have to wait a long time for the trailer. Hocus Pocus 2 is scheduled to release in the fall of 2021, so we will be getting the trailer somewhere around that time only. However, the sequel is in development so we expect that the fans may get some clips or snaps of the same, in the meantime.
We will be getting Hocus Pocus 2 on Disney+, so there will not be a theatrical run of the same.
