On Sunday, April 23, country music artist Keith Gattis was k!lled in a tractor accident. In the aftermath of the tragedy, his friends have put up a GoFundMe to assist his family financially. Over $100,000 has been raised, with a $300,000 goal set for this campaign.
Penny, a music producer, and their two daughters are Gattis’s remaining loved ones. Keith Gattis’s best-known works are Big City Blues and Dwight Yoakam’s Blame the Vain. He has collaborated with many musicians, including Kid Rock, Randy Houser, and the Eli Young Band.

Who was Keith Gattis? Exposure to the Country Music Icon
After being born in Georgetown, Texas, on May 26, 1971, musician Keith Gattis started performing at open mic nights and other small venues across the state as a youngster.
He uprooted to Music City after signing with RCA Nashville. Soon after, with the help of songs like “Real Deal” and “Little Drops of My Heart,” he became a massive success in the country music business. His webpage talks about how he inspired Tom Petty and the Eagles.
According to Musicrow, despite Keith Gattis’s growing fame, the sales of his two singles were disappointing. After relocating to the West Coast, he collaborated with Dwight Yoakam on the 2005 album Big City Blues. Its success may be attributed to songs like “El Cerrito Place” from the album. He was a co-creator of the Honky Tonk Experience with Kendell Marvel.
Marvel has spoken up about their experience working with Gattis following his p@ssing. His exact words were:
“We made my first record together and wrote most of the songs. Hell, we started The Honky Tonk Experience together. He was not only a great guitar slinger/ songwriter/singer/producer, he was also a great friend and an even better dad to his babies and husband to Penny.”

Country singer Jake Owen released a public statement on Gattis’ de@th, in which he said:
“Losing people in our lives is never something we can get used to. Losing someone in this business, is even harder bc of what they brought to everyone around them. Keith Gattis brought it all.”
