Prepare to find out the truth behind the scenes as we find out if Liv Morgan has had any injuries that could have stopped her meteoric rise to fame.
Liv Morgan Injury Explained!
Following rumors that she and Dakota Kai had been injured in a tag bout on the May 12 SmackDown, Liv Morgan stated during a weekend UpUpDownDown live stream that Morgan indeed had a “torn shoulder”:
Morgan, whose stint with Raquel Rodriguez for the WWE Women’s Tag title was cut short by an injury, cited the incident a few times when trashing Maximum Male Models in a game of Street Fighter VI.
“You know, it’s really funny that you bring it up because I’m sitting at home with my torn shoulder and I’m like, wow, I’m really excited to win the UpUpDownDown Championship. I’m really excited to beat [ma.cé] and he just so happened to ‘have a recital’. I would like to see the footage of this recital, just saying.
“So you sent your friend out [mån.sôör] but you know what? Even with one shoulder, I’m still gonna beat you and I’m gonna be the new UpUpDownDown Champion. I wasn’t gonna miss this for the world. One shoulder, no shoulder, doesn’t matter.”
Morgan was hurt while defending the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Raquel Rodriguez against Bayley and Dakota Kai on the May 12 episode of WWE SmackDown (a bout in which Kai was also hurt).
Despite successfully defending the belts, WWE vacated Morgan’s championship after she sustained a shoulder injury, awarding it to Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler in a Fatal 4-Way match.
The length of time it takes to recover from a torn shoulder varies from patient to patient but is typically between four months and a year. Unless anything miraculous happens, Morgan’s return to the WWE ring in 2023 is highly unlikely. But SmackDown! welcomes back Liv Morgan from injury.
Liv Morgan Returns From an Injury on WWE Smackdown
Liv Morgan has returned, and she and Raquel Rodriguez are gunning for the championships they never gave up on. Rousey confronted Rodriguez as he was leaving the ring after watching Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler unify the WWE and NXT Women’s Tag Team titles on Friday’s (23 June 2023) SmackDown.

Rousey enquired as to Rodriguez’s presence, wondering what her purpose was. Rodriguez had informed her that “they” were seeking a championship bout. Morgan made his official comeback from injury after Baszler questioned who “they” were.
Since May, when Morgan hurt his shoulder in a match on SmackDown, he had been sidelined. Morgan reported having a “torn shoulder” on a UpUpDownDown stream. Due to the injury, Raw aired on May 29 featuring a four-way match between Baszler and Rousey, Bayley and IYO SKY, and Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green. In the end, Baszler and Rousey prevailed and took home the championship belts.
