TikTok on Opera Browser: Today, Opera, a developer of web browsers, announced that it had integrated TikTok into the desktop browser’s sidebar, allowing users to watch videos and post content without having to switch to the app or open a new tab. Those using Opera can enable the function by selecting the Messengers menu item from the context menu of the browser’s sidebar. Once enabled, users can open the sidebar to the left of their screen to view their TikTok feed while continuing to work on the main page. While it is not novel to add new features to a browser’s sidebar, Opera brags that it is the only browser to include TikTok.

According to Opera’s product director Joanna Czajka: “Typically, people who have started using the messengers and social media platforms available through Opera’s sidebar do not want to go back to a world without them.”
And Opera said that its survey found that people aged 18 to 35 wanted an integrated TikTok the most. TikTok is used by 54% of Opera users in the 18-25 age bracket in the United States.
Even though many users prefer the mobile app, Opera’s decision to introduce a built-in TikTok feature is still noteworthy. Recent research by Sensor Tower found that TikTok generates more revenue than any other app.

More than 175 million people had downloaded the social video app by the end of the first quarter of 2022. TikTok is one of the most popular apps based on downloads, consumer spending, and monthly active users, according to research conducted by app intelligence firm data.ai in over 12 countries around the world.
As a result, while it’s unlikely that the billions of TikTok users will use the lesser-known Opera browser to entertain themselves in their downtime, many Opera users will probably enjoy the new feature.
