Google Maps New 3D Perspective Is Now Available And It Includes Quick-reference Directions

It seems to be Google Maps day, with the company revealing several significant changes to an app without which I’m not sure the world could function. What would we do if we didn’t have access to Google Maps?

The significant updates announced today include Immersive View, additional Live View functionality, expanded electric vehicle functions for users with Google Android Auto, and improved glanceable navigation.

The “billions of Street View and aerial pictures” collected by Google have created fully immersive experiences in select cities. In other words, you may use Google Maps to virtually explore a city in search of a restaurant, zoom in close to the building’s entrance and go inside to see whether it’s suitable.

London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Tokyo are the launch cities for Immersive View. Amsterdam, Dublin, Florence, and Venice are just a few places where Google plans to open offices in the coming months.

Immersive View A New Feature Of Google Maps Is Debuting In These Five Cities

Google has introduced a new tool called Immersive View for Google Maps, which utilises computer vision and AI to render a 3D amalgam of Street View and aerial photography. The goal is to represent the surrounding landscape and architecture accurately.

As of today, the update is available in those five locations. The cities of London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Tokyo will all offer opportunities to view them. In September, Google began testing out the functionality in selected areas.

Over the next few months, Immersive View will roll out to additional cities like Amsterdam, Dublin, Florence, and Venice. Google’s Immersive View is being promoted as a tool for vacation planning. This function provides other background data, such as current traffic conditions, forecasts, and historical foot traffic patterns at a specific place.
