After a short break for Thanksgiving, our ladies are back at school, where the action and intrigue continue right where they left off. Kimberly still hasn’t figured out a way to pay for school after she lost her scholarship at the end of the previous trimester.
Whitney has difficulty deciding where her relationship with Canaan stands. After coming out, Leighton is figuring out who she is as a lesbian, while Bela is hosting a male strip show/climate change fundraiser she calls a “sex-positive, female-forward striptacular.”

We’ve seen the trailer, and it looks like the second trimester will be just as exciting for our girls as the first. Actress Pauline Chalamet, who plays Kimberly on HBO Max, has seen the first four episodes and spoke with E! News about what the audience can expect from the upcoming second season.
“It’s hard to watch it for the first time, but I liked it,” the actress told the outlet. “I like how we pick back up and I think it finds its groove.“
In case you missed it, Kimberly gets into a tight spot financially in the season one finale. Her financial aid was cut off after she was caught plagiarising on an economics test. She needs to find a way to afford Essex despite the steep cost of tuition and maintain satisfactory academic progress if she is to remain a student there.
As a favour to Kimberly, Nico allows her to steal old exams from his fraternity to show to the school’s honour board, but their relationship is strained as a result of Nico’s cheating on his girlfriend Kimberly. Pauline told that despite everything going on, we’ll see her character develop this year.
“It’s great,” she exclaimed. What makes the second season so intriguing is that Kimberly is challenged to establish herself by asking herself questions even more weighty than those she faced in the first.
